WILL YOU BLESS? OR WILL YOU NOT??
BY : JYO JOTTY POET JOY
The scorching sun burns them all,
Man and beast, in a heap they fall..!
Wishes and prayers on their lips shall last
Wishes and prayers on their lips shall last
Now, let’s have the Rains..Rains come fast
Oh Lord! Will you bless? Or will you not??
In the hot deserts of the ‘Thar’ Man walks so dazed,
But the ‘Ship of the Desert’ sails through unfazed
Man prays, an ass brays; whenever in pain…,
Oh!Rain, come again, but prayers are all in vain
Oh Lord! Will you bless? Or will you not??
There in the shadowy grove the cuckoo sings
In the hot summers unabashed it has all the ‘flings’
Rain or drought it matters little to them as well
Fishes in the ocean, or that ole’ frog in the well Oh Lord! Will you bless? Or will you not??
The standing crops ripe and fine, awaiting a harvest
Yonder a farmer prays “ This Time for Rain, not the best!”
Alas ! The fishermen beside the dried ponds sigh
Look askance at the thin clouds, that in the sky fly by
Oh Lord! Will you bless? Or will you not??
Not a fisherman, neither a farmer nor the animal be
A MAN with lots of wealth, in scryscrapers dwells he,
Rain or drought bother him not, he is used to AC..
Earthquakes! Or the Tsunami, his nemesis can be
So Lord!Whom will you bless? Or will you not??

Loved the last stanza thoroughly.
Bitter fact. How would one who has all the comforts know the pain of a man working relentlessly in the scorching heat?
